PresidentPat entered the insurance industry in 1979 as an agent with Home Life of New York. He was introduced to Provident Life and Accident and sold his first disability policy the same year. Shortly thereafter he joined Provident where he began his career specializing in disability insurance. After 5 years of learning the business he opened a new disability brokerage office for Monarch Life. As the branch manager he grew the business and became one of the company’s top offices. In 1993 he became a Regional Disability Consultant for Chubb Life. In 1995 he founded his own company. IRA Brokerage started as an independent disability brokerage agency with 3 insurance carriers in order to better serve the disability needs of his clients. The company now represents dozens of companies.
Pat is a founding partner of The Plus Group/US LP., a national group of independent disability specialists organized to promote education and the sale of disability insurance. He earned his BA degree from Michigan State University in 1979 and earned his CLU designation in 1983. Pat is a member of MAHU and NAIFA of Greater Detroit and a member of The Detroit Chapter of The Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Brokerage ManagerCharlotte serves as Brokerage Manager for IRA Brokerage overseeing our office functions since 2002. Before her start with IRA Brokerage, Charlotte had 16 years of insurance experience from property and casualty to personal lines to life, accident, and health insurance. During these 16 years, Charlotte worked full-time while earning her bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University. She is known as a person that wears many hats in the office while she oversees multiple departments such as marketing, underwriting, contracting, technology, training, and education. She works closely with our IRA Brokerage team to establish a synergistic environment for our advisors. Charlotte understands our agency is only as good as our team, so she makes sure we are always trained and up to date on the latest products and changes in the insurance industry. In Charlotte’s spare time she enjoys reading, walking, kayaking, and boating with her family and friends.
Brokerage RepresentativeAs son of IRA Brokerage founder, Matt was born into the Disability Insurance world. Officially he began working full-time as a part of our team in 2015. A graduate of Michigan State University and current attendee of the American College for Financial Services pursuing a CLU designation, Matt provides a high level of expertise and compassion to producers with an emphasis on service and resourcefulness. Matt is always up for a challenge and eager to work on designing plans for agents and clients alike whether a case is big or small. His connection and rapport with industry professionals and various underwriters make him an extremely valuable resource. As a millennial, he also provides a unique skillset along with insightful perspectives. In his free time, Matt is an avid traveler, foodie and ‘beer snob.’ Having roots in Argentina, he is fluent in Spanish. He is a soccer player and fan – captaining a neighborhood team and helping coordinate small service projects in Detroit. Matt is also a member and advocate of multiple art museums, including the DIA.
Brokerage RepresentativeMatt, also known as Dymond, began his insurance journey with IRA Brokerage in 2012. While learning the ropes, Matt successfully became life, accident and health licensed in the state of Michigan. As a Brokerage Representative, Matt builds strong personal relationships with our advisors. He works closely with them to provide the most competitive insurance quotes and solutions to help meet their goals. True to IRA Brokerage’s values, Matt exudes passion for insurance and gives each advisor 120% of his energy. When Matt is not at work, you can find him on a stretch of water, boating and fishing with family and friends; during football season you will find him at “the big house”.
Brokerage RepresentativeNewly employed with IRA Brokerage, Romeo brings with him 6 years of insurance experience. He currently holds licenses for Life, Health, Property and Casualty. Romeo also earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan. With his industry experience and passion for insurance, we have no doubt he will excel as Brokerage Representative. His off work activities include spending time with his family, going to the movies, following his favorite sport teams, refereeing high school football, playing basketball and golf.
Underwriting ManagerPatti is our Underwriting Manager and active case manager. She oversees the underwriting process from application submission through policy placement. As an essential part of our team, she is committed to building strong relationships with our agents while maintaining great rapport with our carrier underwriters. Rest assured, she is working behind the scenes protecting your clients interests by obtaining the fairest offers. Patti came to IRA Brokerage in 2008 with 30 years of life and health insurance experience under her belt. During her free time, Patti enjoys bowling, baking, boating, and spending time her with family.
Case ManagerNikki is our newest team member. Advisors and professionals enjoy working with Nikki for her professionalism, approachable nature and sincere care for doing things right. She brings extensive experience in client relations and case management. Nikki earned her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. Outside the office, Nikki loves to travel and when she is not traveling, Nikki enjoys spending time in nature, reading and planning for her next adventure.

I have worked with IRA for over 10 years and they never fail to do a superb job.
